To The New Year

The holidays… There are so many mixed emotions. The daily excitement builds from November 1st, with hints of cheerful music and decorations going on sale. Chaos ensues during dinner prep, with continuous gift wrapping and endless small talk. All of it cumulates with a feeling of exhaustion from the season and the significant shift once the celebrations are over as the relatives walk out the door.

Through all the emotions of the season, one of my favorite things about it is that all of humanity agrees to spend a few months each year showing appreciation and sharing meaningful moments with their loved ones. It's one of the brighter sides of this sometimes intensely negative world that we see portrayed on our screens. But… my second favorite part is the meals spent together. They are wrapped in tradition and love, with the single goal of sharing with others. Food is the soul of connection: shared with others, prepared with love, and passed down through generations.

As we step into the new year, I’m excited to share my year of food experimentation and discovery with you. I hope it sparks personal excitement—not only about flavors but for the act of sharing meals with others around you. Here’s to new things, new opportunities, and new beginnings.

Check out my Instagram page @peaches.n.parsley for everyday experiments and hopefully soon some recipe videos! I'm nervous but I'm going to try it out. Why not, it's a new year!!
