Winter Reset

This season, with all its charm—Christmas, New Year's, and snow days—has brought countless moments of connection. Yet, for me, the winter always leaves its mark. My skin feels parched, my dark circles deepen, my hair is too static, and after indulging in holiday sweets, my eating habits seem reluctant to return to their rhythm.
But no more ranting! I've decided to shift my focus, to take a step in the right direction—one that nourishes not just my skin, but my soul and my gut as well.
Brothy soups and lots of bread are my go-to meals when I feel cold to the bone. Your body LOVES warm foods, especially in winter! Warm meals are easier for your body to digest, and the broth helps boost your immunity—super helpful during flu season. But my gut has been begging for some greens, a little detox. Luckily, a co-worker gifted me pickled beets, which are a great energy booster—something I desperately need when the sky is covered in fog for weeks. Why not embrace those root vegetables? Carrots, beets, turnips, and others are packed with fiber and antioxidants, which support both your immune system and gut. I’ve always been more of a tea granny than a coffee girly, and after winter my tea collection needs a serious restock. Hydrating with warm drinks gives your body less work to do, while also being nurturing.
Here are those few mindful tips to keep your body a little happier this winter:
Brothy, comforting soups and stews to warm both body and soul
Pickled foods, full of probiotics, to give your gut a fresh start
Root vegetables, with their grounding energy, to nourish from within
Hydrate with warming drinks that nurture your spirit
KEEP IT UP!!
